Early New Year’s Seating - Same high quality as usual!

The restaurant was well prepared for New Year’s Eve – they offered a special prix fixe menu which highlighted many of their tried and true selections. The whole family had an opportunity to satisfy their appetites and were happy with their choices. This is my return to the area after a two year break. The goal to take the family to a memorable dinner was achieved with great results. Our server Adrian, who I remember from our last visit, still has a great sense of humor and an exceptional memory. His attentiveness and ability to connect with every person at the table is admirable. Our overall experience was excellent.

First visit to this wonderful restaurant. We were lucky enough to get a table outside Overlooking the beautiful lake. I ordered fried green tomatoes and shrimp Remolaude. DELICIOUS! Server was polite and attentive. I’d give it 6 stars, if possible.

Wanted a lunch spot with a view of Lake Pontchartrain. Drove by and decided to try it. Did not disappoint! Up the steps to the 2nd floor with a table in the corner overlooking the Lake. Food and service were awesome. The turtle soup topped with sherry was excellent as was the seafood gumbo. Then we had huge, full crab cakes and catfish topped with crab stuffing and shrimp. Paired with Sauvignon Blanc and a cold beer. So good! Highly recommend!

We were in Mandeville on an errand when my wife and I needed lunch. We found Rip’s. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was after 1 pm and seating was available right away. Service was friendly and efficient. My wife had a special, half a soft shell crab po’boy and a big pile of super hot and fresh French fries. My pan fried redfish also arrived red hot from the skillet with delicious big shrimp and potato chip topping. So, excellent food and excellent service. What more can you ask for?

Excellent visit with kids and grandkids – they recommended Rip’s for the lake view and interesting menu. The staff was eager to greet us and brought drinks quickly while giving us time to review the offerings. The crab claw appetizer was prepared to perfection – we held the sauce for dipping the main course of fried oysters and catfish. Kudos to the bartender for very good Mojitos and to our server Rebeca for her attention to detail and individual care for each member of the family. Also, the gentleman who seated us and supported Rebeca throughout the meal had a great sense of humor and was a pleasure to talk to. All in all, this was one of the most pleasant experiences that we have had at a restaurant in a long time. It is well worth a stop! October 8, 2021
